Valentine's Day Projects and Winter GO AWAY!!

Hi Everyone! Here in New England we are in the midst of ANOTHER powerful storm, leaving us with another foot or more of snow. This has been a challenging winter, one of the toughest in a while, and we are pretty tough here! There is no place for the snow, the transit system is limited, the traffic is brutal due to the lack of trains running and I can't even think about when it comes time for this mess to melt. Roofs are collapsing with the weight of the snow and navigating around the snow banks is dangerous. However, we trudge on because that's all we can do!
I've been in my studio a lot lately since the outdoor activities and travel are limited. I did have a great canvas class yesterday at Right at home Scrapbooking! I want to thank all who attended. We left just as the snow started! I posted some pics on my Instagram account. I made some cute Valentine's Day Treat Bags for my students using my latest Paper Pumpkin Kit from Stampin' Up!

I also created a valentine's Day layout using my latest Noel Mignon Kit "Love Life". I used lots of papers from Crate Paper's Kiss Kiss collection ...

Here's a few close-ups ...

Hope you all had a great Valentine's Day and wish us New Englander's luck dealing with Mother Nature!!!! Thanks for stopping by!

Valentine's Day Cards

Hi Bloggers. During the storm this past Monday, not the Blizzard, just a smaller storm which dumped over 1 foot of MORE snow, I hunkered down in my studio - in between shoveling and re-shoveling a path for my Simba. I kitted for some upcoming classes and I created two Valentine's day cards with my Simon Says Stamp February Card Kit. I recently joined this club because I'm attempting to create more handmade cards and the kit looked like a good deal! February's kit is awesome! It includes a stamp set, embossing powder, rub-ons and lots of paper to play with. I'm still kinda new at homemade cards and this kit makes it easy. Here's what I've created so far ...

Included in this month's kit was Tim Holtz Distress Watercolor Cardstock, SSS White Embossing Powder, SSS "Paper Hug" Stamp Set and a Gold Champagne Gelato all of which I used on this card. I heat embossed the sentiment and scribbled the gold gelato over the sentiment. I water brushed the gelato over the sentiment to give it a watercolor look...

Here's my second card ...

I used the gelatos again on this card but in a different way. I scribbled some gelato on a craft sheet, added water and then flicked it onto the card. I also painted in the hearts with the watered gelato ...

So, if you are looking for a good card kit I recommend Simon Says Stamp!!
Have a good weekend and I'd love your feedback on my cards! See you soon!!

Mixed Media Monthly Challenge | February Reveal

Happy Superbowl Sunday! GO PATRIOTS!! Hope everyone enjoys the big game festivities!! Have fun and be safe!!
Today is the start of a new month which news a new challenge over at
Mixed Media Monthly Challenge blog. Our theme for this month is "Think Pink".

It's easy peasy - just incorporate pink into your project! I had so much fun using my Stampotique stamps for an earlier project so I used another one for this tag. I created a background using Dina Wakley's paints. I then stamped my Stampotique image onto Neenah Solar White cardstock and colored her in with Blendabilities markers.

Here's a close-up of the stamped image including a silver glitter heart I added for Valentine's Day ...

I used some washi tape for this lovely to stand on so the image doesn't look like it's floating ...

Our sponsor this month is the lovely Ellen Hutson!

Ellen's online store is awesome and she is generously offering a $25.00 gift certificate to a lucky participant!

So, get your Pink on and join us in this month's challenge! We would love to see what you create! Have a great Sunday and I will be back tomorrow to announce the winner of my giveaway from the 5 for 5 Blog Event: Valentine's Day.
